Qiang Hao is the newest member of the CAPS team. He is a PhD student from the city of Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia in the north of the People's Republic of China. In recent years he has lived in Beijing, working at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), where he also earned his Masters' degree. Qiang Hao is supervised by Rolf-Erik Olsen, with co-supervisors Zhigang Zhou and Einar Ringø. As such, his position is part of the CAPS collaborative effort between research institutions in Norway and China, and he will conduct research both at NTNU Trondheim, and CAAS. In December 2022 he arrived in Trondheim, and as a PhD-candidate at NTNU he will take classes and work on the analysis of short chained fatty acids in feces of Atlantic salmon, as well as investigate the microbiota present. In June he will travel to Beijing to follow up on CAPS-related research  conducted as CAAS before returning to Norway in 2024.
